Following surgery on my left eye, I developed the most spectacularly colourful bruising. I knew I had to commit it to calico. Waiting until the colours were at their most beautiful, it was a chance to play with shades I don’t often use. I also couldn’t resist including real suture thread and needle to replicate my surgical stitches.
