This piece is part of my hand series, exploring birth trauma and its impact upon my life. The Knife, an item that became significant while I was suffering severe depression, was a particular challenge to stitch both technically and emotionally.
There was fun to be had, though, and that was in capturing the glint of the steel, reworking single threads until I’d captured enough light to being it to life.
